Basketball Game Preview: Hawley Nuggets vs. Thief River Falls Prowlers

Hawley and Thief River Falls are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Hawley Nuggets will take on the Thief River Falls Prowlers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hawley is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Saturday, Hawley was beaten by Spectrum 77-48.

Meanwhile, Thief River Falls came up short against Warroad last Friday and fell 77-67. While losing is never fun, the Prowlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Warriors are ranked 38th).

Hawley's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Thief River Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Hawley didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Thief River Falls when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hawley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
