Rolling Meadows had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 20-13 to make it four. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barrington Fillies/Broncos. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Fillies/Broncos from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
Charlie Hoeper was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April.
As for Barrington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games.
On Barrington's side, Rolling Meadows' batters probably weren't too happy with Will Renshaw, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (he gave up four walks). Renshaw has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Barrington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Cavaliero, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Looking ahead, Rolling Meadows is taking a road trip to square off against Maine West at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Barrington, they will take on Glenbrook North at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
