Basketball Recap: West Clermont Finds Home Court Redemption Against Clermont Northeastern

There's no place like home for West Clermont, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 62-50 victory over the Clermont Northeastern Rockets on Saturday. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Rockets are ranked 593rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Clermont Northeastern still got an impressive performance from Connor Yeager, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Yeager is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 30 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Schmidt, who posted 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

West Clermont's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Clermont Northeastern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

West Clermont will head out to square off against Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in West Clermont's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will welcome Bethel-Tate at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
