After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Acadiana, Barbe was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the New Iberia Yellowjackets 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Buccaneers have posted since March 16, 2024.

Barbe's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for New Iberia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barbe will host Mt. Carmel at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Iberia, they will be playing at home against Berwick at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Berwick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
