Baseball Recap: Dewey Starts off Right with Win over Wyandotte

Dewey had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Wyandotte Bears 13-1. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldoggers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lathe Griggs looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Chase Miller was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Snellgrove, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Wyandotte's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.

Dewey will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Kiefer at 5:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Wyandotte, they will square off against Adair at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
