Baseball Game Preview: Lake Forest Scouts vs. Warren Township Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Lake Forest will face off against Warren Township. The Scouts are taking a road trip to square off against the Blue Devils at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Lake Forest took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Warren Township 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Scouts have posted since May 17, 2024.

Nate Brezak and Hudson Scroggins dominated on the mound. Brezak pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Scroggins pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lake Forest is 2-1 when Brezak allows three or fewer hits, but 1-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Charlie Graham was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Callum Morrison also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Lake Forest moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Warren Township, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
