Basketball Recap: Brookland-Cayce Triumphs

Silver Bluff came into Friday's match looking for another win against Brookland-Cayce, but Kamryn Etheredge wouldn't allow it. The Brookland-Cayce Bearcats had just enough and edged the Silver Bluff Bulldogs out 33-30 thanks in part to Etheredge, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Brookland-Cayce's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of KeAirah Taylor, who posted five boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

The victory got Brookland-Cayce back to even at 5-5. As for Silver Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats challenge the Ashley Hall Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Brookland-Cayce is facing Ashley Hall at the right time seeing as Ashley Hall is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Silver Bluff, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ben Lippen at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
