Baseball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

Collinsville hit Highland with a four-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell 6-3 to the Kahoks. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Kahoks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Highland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Gelly, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Highland and nudges their season record down to 10-8. As for Collinsville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-13.

While Highland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
