The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hyndman Charter School in their matchups with Salisbury Elk Lick: they've now lost four in a row.
It was another big night for Lance Jones, who scored 24 points along with three steals for Salisbury Elk Lick. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Walker Bunnell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Hyndman Charter School dropped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Salisbury Elk Lick, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hyndman Charter School will take on Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Salisbury Elk Lick, they will head out on the road to face off against Union at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Salisbury Elk Lick in their respective states (Union is ranked 92nd in West Virginia, while Salisbury Elk Lick is ranked 489th in Pennsylvania).
