Softball Game Preview: P.K. Yonge Blue Wave vs. Buchholz Bobcats

The P.K. Yonge Blue Wave will challenge the Buchholz Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. P.K. Yonge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

On Monday, P.K. Yonge earned a 9-6 win over Countryside Christian. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Wave in their matchups with the Minutemen: they've now won three in a row.

Makenzie Radford made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alison Sanetz was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Lila Sutton was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Buchholz was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-4 to Tampa Catholic.

Buchholz saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayda Cooper, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that Cooper snagged this season.

Buchholz's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for P.K. Yonge, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-7.
