Football Recap: Western Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Western's offense. They had to suffer through a 37-0 loss at the hands of the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Cheyanne Thornhill continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 170 yards and three touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Thornhill has posted since back in January of 2024.

Western's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Western is taking a road trip to challenge Virgin Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sports Leadership & Management at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
