Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Mariyah Gonzalez and Morgan Jones Lead Sprayberry to Victory

Sprayberry posted their closest win since August 24, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Murray Mountaineers, sneaking past 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Sprayberry who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-27, 15-7.

Leading Sprayberry to victory were Morgan Jones and Mariyah Gonzalez. Jones had nine digs and one assist, while Gonzalez had ten digs. Those ten digs gave Gonzalez a new career-high.

The victory got Sprayberry back to even at 1-1. As for North Murray, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Sprayberry will square off against Pebblebrook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Murray, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gordon Lee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
