Volleyball Recap: Southeast Pirates vs. Garfield G-Men
After flying high against Liberty on Tuesday, Southeast came back down to earth. The Pirates came up short against the Garfield G-Men on Wednesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the G-Men this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-13.
Leila Evans paced Southeast's offense, picking up eight kills. Evans got some help from Neena Truex and her 12 assists. Finally, Evans was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Garfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
