It was a good run, but Hidalgo Early College unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Hidalgo Early College's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Hidalgo Early College will be playing at home against Roma at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they will head out to challenge Jubilee Brownsville at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
