Recap: Dodge City Demons vs. Liberal Redskins
The Dodge City Demons were the 35-32 winner over the Liberal Redskins when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Dodge City's rough 56-32 defeat to Liberal on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Dodge City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Liberal is ranked 68th).
Hailey Contreras continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Liberal, scoring 21 points along with four steals. Contreras hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Shamari Lewis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Dodge City's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Liberal, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Dodge City will take on Trinity Academy at TBD on Tuesday. Trinity Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Liberal, they will head out on the road to take on Tournament Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
