Baseball Recap: Stratford Comes Up Short

If Stratford was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Maysville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against the Latta Panthers on Tuesday, falling 8-1. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Stratford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Smithwick, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Latta, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stratford will challenge Pauls Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Latta, they will square off against Dewar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
