Baseball Recap: New Brockton Takes a Loss

New Brockton and Satsuma squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but New Brockton had to settle for second. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 on Friday.

Jacob Fisher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, New Brockton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Adkison, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

New Brockton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. As for Satsuma, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-10.

While New Brockton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
