Basketball Game Preview: Hernando Tigers vs. Horn Lake Eagles

Hernando is 0-10 against Horn Lake since January of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hernando Tigers will square off against the Horn Lake Eagles at 7:30 p.m.

Hernando is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 66-30 loss at the hands of DeSoto Central. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Jaguars are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, Horn Lake entered their tilt with North Panola on Saturday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Cougars 86-60.

Horn Lake pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.6 points per game. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Hernando was dealt a bruising 65-34 defeat at the hands of Horn Lake when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Hernando avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
