Baseball Recap: Burbank Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Burbank put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lanier Voks an 11-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight runs or more this season.

Isaac Sandoval was incredible, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Issac Perez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Burbank hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Burbank has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lanier, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Burbank will take on rival Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.3, the Mustangs 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lanier is set to face off against their familiar foe Seguin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
