Basketball Recap: Wickliffe Comes Up Short

Wickliffe and Norwayne squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Wickliffe had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Norwayne Bobcats and fell 62-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blue Devils have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Ava Maibach continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norwayne, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine assists. Maibach continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Allie Demassimo was another key player, going 5-for-6 en route to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Wickliffe's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Norwayne, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-3.

Wickliffe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norwayne, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-23 win against South Range on the 22nd.
