Softball Recap: Lanier Longhorns vs. Centennial Knights

There's no place like home for Lanier, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past the Centennial Knights 6-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Longhorns as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Hannah Ridley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Sara Wilson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ansley Idland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Lanier's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-19. As for Centennial, they dropped their record down to 6-24 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
