Softball Recap: T.L. Hanna's Winning Streak Snapped at Nine Games

T.L. Hanna dropped their record down to 15-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Hillcrest Rams by a score of 6-4. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 11-7.

Emma Williams 2027 put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

Williams 2027 wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hanna Davis 2028, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Callie Kinert 2028 also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Hillcrest, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

On Hillcrest's side, the team relied heavily on Chloe Cross, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Looking ahead, T.L. Hanna will welcome Pendleton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Yellow Jackets are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hillcrest, they are taking a road trip to take on J.L. Mann at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
