Chesaning dropped their record down to 7-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Durand Railroaders, falling 7-1. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.
As for Durand, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Considering they have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
For Durand's part, Addison Minto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Minto a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kayla Copeland was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Molly Hull, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
