            Baseball Recap: Sherman Tide vs. Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against St. Joseph Central, Sherman was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders  6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Tide have posted  since April 1, 2024.
 Brayden Hamrick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Hamrick was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Luke Tagliente, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Sherman: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Colby Atkins, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Sherman is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.3 runs over those games.
