Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit Takes a Loss

Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of The Nueva School Mavericks. The Lions were down 46-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Erik Maldonado, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Orian Llamas, who earned seven points.

Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit's record is now 1-11. As for The Nueva School, they moved to 2-15 with that win, which also ended their 11-game losing streak.

Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit has already played their next matchup, a 66-55 victory against Summit Tahoma on the 27th. As for The Nueva School, they will welcome Summit Shasta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for The Nueva School: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Summit Shasta has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
