Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Union Lions vs. Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs

Liberty Union hasn't had much luck against Bloom-Carroll recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Liberty Union Lions will challenge the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Liberty Union is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hamilton Township. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Rangers are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, Bloom-Carroll suffered their biggest loss since March 6, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Warren, falling 57-36. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Bloom-Carroll and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for Liberty Union, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Liberty Union came up short against Bloom-Carroll in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 58-46. Can Liberty Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
