Baseball Recap: Hobart Starts Season with Win on the Road

Hobart had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Washington Township Senators by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Brickies in their matchups with the Senators: they've now won four in a row.

Brandon Stafford was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Murchek, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hobart will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against River Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Washington Township, they will welcome Merrillville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
