Basketball Recap: Penns Valley Area Comes Up Short

After flying high against Philipsburg-Osceola last Friday, Penns Valley Area came back down to earth. The Penns Valley Area Rams lost 61-40 to the Clearfield Bison on Wednesday. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ev Maines was nothing short of spectacular for Clearfield: he went 11 for 15 en route to 30 points and five rebounds. Those 30 points gave Maines a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Parker Collins, who posted eight points along with five assists and five boards.

Penns Valley Area now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Clearfield, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.

The future could be bright for both Penns Valley Area and Clearfield: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Penns Valley Area will look to extend Richland's three-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clearfield will try to hand Bedford their seventh-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
