The Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Chattahoochee Cougars at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Greater Atlanta Christian has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Chattahoochee will arrive with five straight victories.
Last Friday, Greater Atlanta Christian took a serious blow against Wesleyan, falling 75-30. While losing is never fun, Greater Atlanta Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Wesleyan is ranked 13th).
Meanwhile, Chattahoochee humbled Berkmar with a 68-32 victory.
Chattahoochee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Berninger, who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Berninger's third in a row with at least ten points. Brooklinne Dorr was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Greater Atlanta Christian's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Chattahoochee, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Greater Atlanta Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Chattahoochee when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-47 victory.
