Preview: Columbus Christian Academy Pacers vs. Liberty Christian Academy Knights

Columbus Christian Academy is 0-10 against Liberty Christian Academy since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Columbus Christian Academy Pacers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Liberty Christian Academy Knights at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-31, which was the final score in Columbus Christian Academy's tilt against Christ the Cornerstone Academy last Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Columbus Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 609th, while Christ the Cornerstone Academy is ranked 278th).

Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Liberty Christian Academy, who are still winless after their 11th match. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 32-31 to Temple Christian.

Liberty Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tanner Kuykendall, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks, and Bryan Bunnells who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Kuykendall pulled down eight or more rebounds.

Columbus Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Things could have been worse for Columbus Christian Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 73-56 loss to Liberty Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Columbus Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
