Volleyball Game Preview: Hollywood Hills Spartans vs. Northeast Hurricanes

Hollywood Hills is on a nine-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Northeast a four-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Hollywood Hills Spartans will look to defend their home court against the Northeast Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Wednesday, Hollywood Hills came up short against Flanagan and fell 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Hollywood Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Christian Hernandez had 21 digs and one assist. Hernandez has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times he's played. Duane Floyd was another key player, getting 11 kills and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Northeast came up short against McArthur on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-16.

Hollywood Hills' loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Hollywood Hills' way against Northeast in their previous matchup back in March, as Hollywood Hills made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
