Volleyball Recap: Fort Zumwalt South Comes Up Short

Fort Zumwalt South was the 3-1 winner over Fort Zumwalt North when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs came up short against the Panthers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Fort Zumwalt North scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.

Sydney Fenton paced Fort Zumwalt South's offense, picking up 11 kills. Fenton got some help from Mallory Williams and her ten assists. Izzy Koehler and Jozie Spotanski kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Fort Zumwalt South now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Fort Zumwalt North, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season.

Fort Zumwalt South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Timberland on the 18th. As for Fort Zumwalt North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Washington on the 18th.
