Baseball Game Preview: Tates Creek Commodores vs. North Laurel Jaguars

Tates Creek has gone a perfect 5-0 against North Laurel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Tates Creek will challenge North Laurel at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Wednesday, Tates Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Eastern and fell 3-2. The Commodores have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tates Creek got a good showing from Garrett Biroschik, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Biroschik gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Tates Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Huguely, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Huguely a new career-high.

Meanwhile, North Laurel lost 15-2 to Madison Central on Tuesday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Tates Creek's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for North Laurel, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-5.

Tates Creek skirted past North Laurel 9-7 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Does Tates Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Laurel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
