Softball Recap: Brawley Wins Going Away Against Central

Brawley's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Central Spartans. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won eight in a row.

Daniella Yescas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Castro, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Isabella Yescas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Brawley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.

Brawley's record now sits at 7-13. As for Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
