Volleyball Recap: Los Osos Extends Winning Streak to Three

Los Osos proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Xavier Prep Saints, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Grizzlies as they're now sitting on three straight.

Los Osos had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-27, 25-16, 25-18, 15-10.

Los Osos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josslyn Jacks, who had 23 kills, seven digs, five aces, and two blocks. Jacks is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Taylor, who had 15 kills, ten digs, and three blocks.

They weren't the only good server: Los Osos was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Xavier Prep still got an impressive performance from Arianna Padilla, who had 15 digs and two aces. Grace Thomsen also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Los Osos' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Xavier Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 8-1.

Los Osos has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Santiago on the 21st. As for Xavier Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Notre Dame on the 19th.
