Preview: Nevada vs. Union
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Union. On Friday they take on Nevada at 7:30 PM. Union will be hoping to continue their now four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Union might be getting used to good results now that the squad have three wins in a row. Everything went their way against Vinton-Shellsburg last Friday as they made off with a 45-13 win. Followers of Union probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Meanwhile, we expected Nevada to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked West Marshall, and they did. Nevada found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 3-35 punch to the gut against West Marshall. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Nevada.
Union's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Nevada's loss dropped them down to 3-4. We'll see if Union's success rolls on or if Nevada are able to steal their positive momentum.
