Football Recap: South Gwinnett's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

South Gwinnett fell victim to Brookwood and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 10-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Cj Peoples threw for 112 yards on 14 of 21 attempts. Thomas Morris III was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Gwinnett fell to 2-1. As for Brookwood, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-1.

South Gwinnett and Brookwood will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Comets see the field they'll take on Valdosta at 8:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Brookwood, their break will end when they face North Gwinnett at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
