Softball Recap: Livonia Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Livonia had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Hornell Red Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-9 on Thursday.

Gwen Strom was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Alaina Turek was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Livonia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Livonia's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Hornell, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Livonia will square off against Avon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last five games the Braves have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hornell, they will face off against Dansville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Raiders are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
