Morgan Park has gone 6-1 against Kenwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Mustangs will host the Broncos at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kenwood's offense is going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Morgan Park hadn't allowed a single point the last three times they've hit the field. The Mustangs breezed past King to the tune of 42-0 on Saturday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mustangs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 197th).
Morgan Park got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ronald Smith Jr. out in front who threw for 285 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 42 yards. The Mustangs' leading receiver Nasir Rankin was Smith Jr.'s top target yet again, picking up 150 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Another reason for the win was Morgan Park's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Immanuel Carter with three. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Kenwood over Payton College Prep in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Broncos blew the Grizzlies out of the water with a 39-7 final score. The victory was familiar territory for the Broncos, who have now won six contests in a row.
Morgan Park better keep an eye on Kenyonte Louis. He was instrumental in Kenwood's win, rushing for 179 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 271 yards and a pair of TDs. Kingston Watson was Louis' top target, picking up 106 receiving yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kenwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Kenwood's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Morgan Park, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Everything went Morgan Park's way against Kenwood in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as Morgan Park made off with a 20-0 win. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
