Baseball Game Preview: North Sanpete Hawks vs. Delta Rabbits

North Sanpete and Delta are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rabbits at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, North Sanpete needed a bit of extra time to put away Delta. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Rabbits. The win was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Peyton Rostron tossed a big game, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because North Sanpete is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Wyatt Williams and Gage Oldroyd did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Oldroyd went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Williams has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Aaron Costello, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Delta and bumps their season record up to 11-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for North Sanpete, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
