Volleyball Recap: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Comes Up Short

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was the 3-0 winner over Norfolk Christian when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Saints came up short against the Ambassadors on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-17, 25-13.

Hannah Holt paced Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Holt got some help from Jossy Byars and her 12 assists. Finally, Miranda Hammond kept Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Norfolk Christian, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

When Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Norfolk Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Saints will try to stop Norfolk Academy's three-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Norfolk Christian will face off against Peninsula Catholic and their six-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
