Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is the Webb School's 13th in Last 17 Outings

The Webb School won the last time they faced Columbia Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Webb School Feet came out on top against the Columbia Academy Bulldogs by a score of 80-70. Given the Feet's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The Webb School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jax Howard led the charge by going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 22 points and six assists. That's the most points Howard has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Brown, who went 6-for-12 en route to 20 points.

Howard wasn't the only one working in the assist department: The Webb School was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

The Webb School has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Columbia Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Webb School will be taking part in a tournament against Clarksville Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Webb School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season. As for Columbia Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Goodpasture Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Goodpasture Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 games.
