Softball Recap: Devine Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

Devine had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Uvalde on Friday. The Warhorses never let the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Warhorses have won 12 matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddie Brown was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kenny Cruz was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Devine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Uvalde only posted an OBP of .176.

Devine is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Uvalde, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Devine is set to face off against their familiar foe Carrizo Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Uvalde will take on rival Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
