The Garfield-Palouse Vikings will head out to take on the Dayton Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Garfield-Palouse is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

While Garfield-Palouse's victory against Tekoa-Rosalia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Timberwolves 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since April 12th.

Cooper Parzuchowski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Wyatt Cooper was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, while Dayton put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse. The Bulldogs put the hurt on St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse with a sharp 10-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Dayton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Garfield-Palouse, they pushed their record up to 8-6-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Garfield-Palouse came out on top in a nail-biter against Dayton in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
