Basketball Recap: Cooper Morgan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Diller-Odell over Stuart

After a string of three wins, Diller-Odell's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a hard 61-45 fall against the Stuart Broncos.

Diller-Odell lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cooper Morgan, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Phillips, who posted 13 points.

Even though they lost, Diller-Odell was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their sixth loss (out of 18 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Stuart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hunter Tubbs, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Tubbs posted three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Drew Schmaderer was another key player, shooting 54% from the field en route to 19 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Diller-Odell's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 14-11. As for Stuart, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Diller-Odell nor Stuart have any future games scheduled.
