Volleyball Game Preview: Prentice Buccaneers vs. Phillips Loggers

The Prentice Buccaneers will venture away from home to face off against the Phillips Loggers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, it was close, but Prentice sidestepped Antigo for a 2-1 victory.

Prentice found their leader in sophomore Piper Heikkinen, who had 16 digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Phillips, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Athens on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Loggers haven't had any issues with the Bluejays recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The win didn't come easy: Athens scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-21, 25-23.

Phillips' victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-13. As for Prentice, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

Prentice skirted past Phillips 3-2 when the teams last played last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
