Baseball Recap: Council Rock South Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Council Rock South lost to Harry S. Truman back in May of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Golden Hawks walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Tigers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Golden Hawks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jack Albright tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Council Rock South's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 5-2 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Johnny Mendola, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drew Nemeth, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

Council Rock South's record is now 8-9. As for Harry S. Truman, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Council Rock South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
