Football Game Preview: Don Bosco Prep Ironmen vs. St. Joseph Regional Green Knights

The Don Bosco Prep Ironmen will take on the St. Joseph Regional Green Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Don Bosco Prep sitting on 11 straight wins and St. Joseph Regional on five.

Don Bosco Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-17 victory over Bergen Catholic. The score was all tied up 10-10 at the break, but the Ironmen were the (much) better team in the second half.

Don Bosco Prep's defense made their presence known, laying out Trey Tagliaferri five times. Robert Ekins was especially locked on to Bergen Catholic's QB and sacked him twice. Don Bosco Prep got some further help from Mikahi Allen: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles in addition to snagging an interception which he returned for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Regional faced St. Peter's Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Green Knights managed a 25-21 win over the Marauders.

Don Bosco Prep better keep an eye on Nathan Bailey. He was instrumental in St. Joseph Regional's win, rushing for 103 yards and four touchdowns, while also picking up 73 receiving yards.

Don Bosco Prep's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for St. Joseph Regional, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
