Basketball Recap: South Platte Beats Arthur County for Their Second Straight Victory

If Arthur County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played South Platte, they should've done a better job of containing Jayla Paulsen. The South Platte Blue Knights walked away with a 57-47 victory over the Arthur County Wolves on Friday thanks to Paulsen, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Reichman, who went 5-for-11 en route to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mylee Daly, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 13 points. Ryan Eilers was another key player, putting up six points in addition to nine boards and five assists.

The win made it two in a row for South Platte and bumps their season record up to 15-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Arthur County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

South Platte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-27 defeat against Paxton on the 8th. As for Arthur County, they have also already played their next game, a 53-39 victory against Potter-Dix on the 14th.
