Volleyball Game Preview: Mater Dei Monarchs vs. St. Francis Golden Knights

The Mater Dei Monarchs will head out to face off against the St. Francis Golden Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mater Dei is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Edison. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Mater Dei found their leader in sophomore Beck Schobel, who had eight digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, St. Francis had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Eagles.

St. Francis took El Segundo into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 24-26, 15-11.

St. Francis' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. As for Mater Dei, their win bumped their record up to 25-12-2.
